Powerpoint 2016 chart not updating

Every table and chart which appears in the Report tree contains an invisible code.When charts and tables are exported form Q to Power Point this invisible code is hidden in the exported objects.

When Q exports a table or plot to Power Point and Excel it scans the documents to see if the code is contained within the document and, if it is found, the option of updating is provided.When I click on refresh data in powerpoint - nothing changes. I have not found a way to update a table though via this method. I have not found a way to update a table though via this method.This used to be so simple in previous versions of office. Keep Source Formatting & Link Data (F) clicking refresh data and still it is not updating. Does it have anything to do with having to have the excel file and powerpoint in the same folder? I have an Excel chart that I have copied and pasted into powerpoint.When I change the chart in Excel, I want the changes to update in powerpoint. Its then a matter of clicking the chart and refersh the data and your chart is updated!!
